Owl Art

Inspired by our inquiry this term, we have been spending time making our beautiful mixed media "Owl Art" which we have displayed in our cloak bay -  you should come and have a look.  We are very proud!

We drew the owls using simple shapes like circles, ovals and triangles. We then add different types of lines in different shades of brown to represent the owls feathers and dyed our owls a golden brown. Our moody night background was by sponging on black and white paint. To make it look like it was sitting in a tree, we added a branch for the owl to sit on and real and paper leaves behind the owl.

Have a closer look at our owls below. Aren't they cute???

We have been making habitats for our native New Zealand birds.  We had to know if our chosen bird was nocturnal or diurnal.  Then we painted our boxes and chose from a wide range of native plants to create our habitats.

Our newest school student!!  Welcome Penny ;-)

Family/Whanau Mass

This Sunday was our Family/Whanau Mass.  It was a special celebration because it is Pentecost.
It was nice to see our families coming together with our school and church community.

Ducks

Team 10 have been working on a booklet all about ducks. As part of our inquiry we are learning facts about birds. Have a read and please post a comment.
